9/25/2013: Today, at 10:15am, we pulled in our lines from our slip at Aqua Yacht Harbor on Pickwick Lake and resumed our cruising life. It has been 1 year and 5 days since we docked Rickshaw there.   We are so excited to be cruising again.

Our cruising plan for the next 5 weeks is to go up the Tennessee River to Chattanooga. While in Chattanooga we will met looper friends Tara and Joe. We boated with them last year in Canada. From there we will return down steam stopping at Joe Wheeler State Park in Rogersville, Alabama, for the fall Looper Rendevzous. After the rendezvous we will Return to Aqua Yacht Harbor for a quick trip back to Memphis to put our car in storage. As soon as possible we will head down the Tom-Bigby to Mobile Bay. We expect to get to the gulf about November 1st.

As soon as we turned on to the river we were greeted by our first barge.

Since this part of the river runs through Pickwick Lake we had plenty of room to pass.

Our first day was a short cruise. We dropped our anchor only after 2 1/2 hrs on the river. We couldn't wait to anchor out and enjoy the peace of a beautiful secluded cove with blue herons and the sounds of fish rippling the surface.
